How Ambiance Changed The Matchmaking Industry
Ambiance Matchmaking opened its doors in 2002. To put things into perspective, the early 2000’s was a time of rapid growth in our other world; the world wide web. LinkedIn launched in 2002, Skype in 2003, Facebook in 2004, Twitter in 2006. With every new digital community born, the world became just a little bit smaller…
Ambiance also felt this huge pull toward making the world smaller for singles. During this time, we were sitting in our brick and mortar office smack dab in the middle of the United States. We were a local matchmaking boutique, matching singles within a 50km radius.
We knew there had to be another way to connect with more singles near and far.
In 2010, we fused the Web with our old-school approach to matchmaking.
We began with a small first step. We began offering a new way to interview with our company – online interviews via Skype.
This was slow to be accepted, as people were still wary of online methods for doing business. Then in 2015, as if ‘being online’ was globally accepted overnight, we started connecting with more and more singles across the globe with a click of a login button.
Our 50 kilometer radius expanded tenfold and our members database quadrupled.
It was new, uncomfortable, exciting, expansive…
Slowly, we began bridging the gap between localized and national matchmaking.
It was clear that we could not put a Matchmaker in every single city where we initiated a ‘singles database.’
We made another big company shift…
Ambiance Remote Matchmakers
We told our Matchmakers to step outside the office, and the idea of Ambiance Remote Matchmakers was born.
Our matchmaking radius was pushed out to the American coastlines and our members database was overflowing with singles from New York to San Francisco.
As we continued to grow, so did the diversity of our members.
We had singles contacting us from all cultural backgrounds; singles from Latin America, China, India, Europe. Many were open to being matched with singles from any ethnicity or religion, while others preferred to date within their own culture.
With an explosion in the number of members, we had to find the solution to one major concern…
How would we find matches for members with very specific search parameters?
For example, how would we match a Jewish man that only wanted to date petite Jewish women living in Chicago? Or a Latin American Catholic woman only wanting to date Catholic men 6’1 or taller in San Francisco?
Specific parameters can make matching even more difficult, for example, how would we match a vegan with other vegans living in San Diego? Or how would we find men who are Entrepreneurs living in Phoenix?
To this day, Matchmakers face this dilemma. This is because many Matchmakers only match within their own database.
Ambiance Matchmaking was determined to find a solution to this industry-wide challenge, and we did…
Ambiance Digital Recruitment®
In order to search all men with the job title Entrepreneur living Phoenix, for example, we again turned to the ever-expansive world wide web.
In 2015, everyone was on the internet. If you didn’t have a Facebook account, you were considered “off the grid." We decided to utilize these online social communities.
We developed a system called Ambiance Digital Recruitment® that changed the way we find matches for our clients, and solved the industry-wide dilemma of matching outside of a matchmaker’s singles database.
With Ambiance Digital Recruitment®, we are able to search single men and women with a specific ethnicity, religion, job title, education, hobby, even dietary-restriction. We are able to search Jewish singles in Chicago, Latin singles in San Francisco, Entrepreneurs in Phoenix, even vegans with the job title Physician living in San Diego.
Our formula has quadrupled our success rate.
The Future Of Matchmaking
What does the future of Ambiance Matchmaking look like? Our Internal Research & Development Program (IRAD) is always looking for innovative ways to connect with quality singles across the globe. This is what keeps us one step ahead. While I can’t spill any insider information, I will say it involves more expansive networks for finding that special person.
We believe in utilizing the best parts of modern technology while staying true to our founding core value – to create a highly personal, hands-on matchmaking experience. We feel there isn’t anything that can replace human connection.
We are making the world a smaller place for singles, one match at a time.
